Instructions:
- Read the Informational Text
- While reading, conduct a "Think-aloud"
- Have students discuss answers to the follow up questions provided at the bottom of the article.
- Have the students write a reflection on what they learned and what they think about the Indian Removal Act.
- Make groups and ask the students to come up with a better plan/treaty that can be kept.
- New treaties should be written, shared with the class, and hung up in the hall to celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day!
